Best Buy & EA Invent A Game Challenge.
Recently,
Dan was flown to Los Angeles recently to begin the
journey of seeing his game 'Rhythm' developed as
an online downloadable game by EA.
“This is a dream come
true!” said Dan, “I am very serious about a career as a
video game developer, and could not be more appreciative
of this great opportunity. It will be a thrilling
experience to see the world playing Rhythm.”

involved in a competition like this,” said Daniel
Hagerty, Producer of EA Casual. “We are extremely
excited to work with such a promising young talentand help bring Rhythm to life."
Now that Dan has had
his first production meeting, we look forward to seeing
it become real!

In June,
Dan and his father flew to a special
ceremony at the Best Buy Offices in Minnesota and
received his $10,000 check. In addition to
his prize, Dan also had the opportunity to spend the day with the
experts at Best Buy, and
tour their offices.
Dan went
to an awards gala at the Minneapolis Convention Center
where thousands of people celebrated Best Buy's @15
program - and Dan's accomplishments!

17-year-old Dan Slutz, swept the judges off their feet
with his video game idea "Rhythm". The Canton, Ohio
resident won the 2009 Best Buy & EA Invent A Game
Challenge, also presented by By Kids For Kids and United
Inventors Association. Dan's idea takes you on a journey
into the music world with Rhythm, the main character of
his game. Rhythm’s hometown, Melody loses its access to
music when someone steals the Platinum Record. Now, it’s
up to Rhythm to find it!
