Pennsylvania State Winner

Eight year old Zebulon Smith is the winner of the Pennsylvania Invention Dimension Challenge. Zebulon's winning idea, the Baseorainea is a sports equipment for baseball to help find out whether a player is safe or not at home plate. Zebulon was inspired to come up with the idea when he saw kids argue while playing.

"My invention will keep people from fighting and you can use it as a normal base. I think all sports lovers will buy it because it is a good piece of equipment, and the cost is minimal. You can also enjoy the game with out keeping score.

If I were to make a prototype in the future, I would use these steps. First, I would mold pick-up coil to home plate and then attach pick-up coil to RFID receiver. Then, I would attach battery holder to RFID receiver and attach RFID receiver to the speaker transmitter. Lastly, I would put RFID tag wrist and ankle bands on players. The materials I would use to construct my prototype would be a base, RFID receiver, 12 RFID tags, battery holder, and a wireless speaker system.

Zebulon received a prize of a $500 JAKKS Pacific Prize Pack.
