Closter, NJ Resident Wins New Jersey 'INVENT-A-GAME' CHALLENGE

Jennifer Lynn Hou, 20, wins New Jersey 'INVENT-A-GAME' Challenge
for her game, Anatomy Lesson with Dr. Tulp

Stamford, CT- December 3, 2009-By Kids For Kids Co. (BKFK) announces that Jennifer Lynn Hou, 20, of Closter, NJ has won the New Jersey 'Invent-A-Game' Challenge, a competition where kids from New Jersey were challenged to invent a new video game. The 'Invent-A-Game' Challenge was a national competition sponsored by Best Buy and EA with a New Jersey statewide prize awarded through the support of The Edison Venture Fund and the United Inventors Association.

Jennifer's winning online game entry is called: Anatomy Lesson with Dr. Tulp. The storyline is a follows: You (the main character) and your friend are playing on the playground when your friend falls ill. He has been attacked by a virus - your enemy. A mad scientist named Dr. Tulp minimizes you, and you enter your friend's body. You must get through different levels to save your friend. In these levels, you have to complete different tasks in order to earn "years," needed to advance to other levels. The game is action packed and dramatic, and all the while, the player is learning about biology and neuroscience.

As the New Jersey State winner, Jennifer Lynn Hou won a special $1,000 prize. She was also automatically entered into the national version of the contest. Ultimately, the grand prize winner of the national competition was Dan Slutz, 17, of Canton, Ohio for his game "Rhythm," which immerses players into the world of music.

Jennifer Lynn Hou commenting on her award said: "The human body functions much like a game, fighting off invaders and maintaining a relatively constant internal environment. I created this game in order to help people learn about biology while having fun!"

Norman Goldstein, the founder and CEO of BKFK, said: "We congratulate Jennifer on her winning video game submission, which proves an innovative and fun way for kids to learn about biology. We appreciate the contributions of Best Buy, EA, Edison Venture Fund and the UIA to this competition, and look forward to working with New Jersey's creative kids for many years to come."

The New Jersey Invent-A-Game Challenge was presented by Best Buy and EA. Participating sponsors included the United Inventors Association and the Edison Venture Fund.
