Spencer is the youngest Inductee to the National Gallery for America’s Young Inventors (Hall of Fame) at age 8, in 2000.

At the age of 6, Spencer knew that young kids who were hospitalized with serious health conditions still liked to play. However, their medical apparatus (IV and oxygen) often inhibited their freedom. He also noticed the problem that parents would nervously chase their children with the IV pole for fear that the needle would come out. To solve this problem, he created a riding vehicle with an attached IV pole for kids to play.
