Interested in our Build It! competitions? Then it’s pretty clear you’re somebody who likes to get your hands dirty!

Here are some characteristics shared by 'do-ers' like you:

• You like the physicality of the task at hand. You know, the banging, gluing, molding, sawing, and painting type stuff.
• You’re most excited when your hard work pays off, and you can hold that finished product in your hands.
• You look for ways to improve the way we live, whether it’s colder ice cubes or a better way to practice a sport.
• You’re resourceful! You can make do with innovative, inexpensive materials to get the job done.

And for aspiring engineers, who are always looking for ways to break things and build new ones, we bring you our Trash to Treasure Competition.
Here are some tips to help you generate the best ideas possible to enter the challenge.

1. Find solutions in one of the following 3 areas:
   • Mobility – something that moves things or people
   • Environment – something that protects the environment
   • Play – something kids play with inside or outside.
    
2. Pick Your Trash
   Pick at least 2 trash materials you can recycle, reuse, or re-engineer
    
3. Design & Test It
   Remember your first solution is not always your best solution!
