17-year-old Dan Slutz, swept the judges off their feet with his video game idea "Rhythm". The Canton, Ohio resident won the 2009 Best Buy & EA Invent A Game Challenge, also presented by By Kids For Kids and United Inventors Association. Dan's idea takes you on a journey into the music world with Rhythm, the main character of his game. Rhythm’s hometown, Melody loses its access to music when someone steals the Platinum Record. Now, it’s up to Rhythm to find it. Dan explains what Rhythm needs to do to get it back:

“Your main enemy is Silence. You need to defeat him to bring the music back to your hometown. In order to do that, you must use different music styles to change the world to your advantage. The styles are Rock, Metal, Pop, Country, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Blues. You can switch between different genres of music once you acquire them. Each style of music you switch between affects the world around rhythm. Some make the world bouncy like Pop and some slow things down like Blues. There will be about 10 areas with various levels within each of them. This fun music game has 3 difficulty levels, quiet, loud, and blaring. You must use different music styles to manipulate Rhythm’s world, solve puzzles, and defeat enemies and bosses.” Dan will receive a $10,000 U.S. savings bond and a trip the Best Buy Headquarters. His game is under review at EA for a potential game that you could play online!
