Mae Jemison was the first African American woman to go into space. In September 1992, she served as a Science Mission Specialist on Space Lab J in a joint operation between United States and Japan. She was born in Decatur, Alabama, the youngest child to Charlie Jemison and Dorothy Green and was raised in Chicago. Like most innovators and successful adults, she was highly influenced by her parents dedication to helping her pursue her passions - science and dance!

Blair got her first school locker when she entered 6th grade. She was excited and went to the store with the intent of “customizing” her locker to make it her own. She wanted to make it cool and fun. She was disappointed to find that there wasn’t much to choose from. Blair set out to come up with something that would turn a boring locker into a cool, fun and bright place to go between classes!
