If your teen is a revolutionary thinker who is always looking to make
the world a better place to live in, inspire him/her to enter his/her ideas
to our Change It Competitions!
Our 4 quarterly competitions each give away $10,000 and a real
time experience with a famous innovator to the best ideas! That’s over
$160,000 in prize money each year.
This season, we challenge young innovators to come up with solutions to
improve the life of a pet or an animal.
Here’s what you can teach your teen to help him/her generate the best
possible ideas.
1. Think big, but be reasonable! Whatever the idea, the goals should be
absolute and measurable (i.e. colonize Mars by 2009 won’t cut it).
Examples of measurable goals: the
preservation of an endangered species, spreading awareness on animal
disaster planning, a toy for your dog.
2. There’s no such thing as a dead end. Encourage your teens and make
them understand that they can overcome any obstacle. If you think their
idea won't work, ask them to re-think their strategy.
3. Harness the power of technology! Help your teens understand the power
of technology and the internet to get the
word out. It’s a key component for any world-changing organization.
4. Get to the point! Your teen should be able to communicate crux any
problem quickly and clearly. Help him/her communicate his thoughts well
to keep people's attention.
5. Passion! Whatever the idea, it’s going to
need 150% of your teen's passion to succeed. Make sure he/she
understands this committment.
