If your teen has a good eye and flare for style, inspire him/her to enter his/her ideas to our Design It Competitions!
Our 4 quarterly competitions each give away $10,000 and a real time
experience with a famous innovator to the best ideas! That’s over
$160,000 in prize money each year.
This season, we bring an especial competition for girls who want to
enter the world of entrepreneurs! They can enter their original
business idea or plan for a shot at winning $10,000.
Here’s what you can teach your teen to help him/her generate the best
possible ideas.
1. What's Your Business?
The Mind Your Business Entrepreneurial challenge is looking for business
ideas for either a product or a service. Ask your teen to decide what
interests him/her the most and if they could make it a business.
2. Financial Plan
Introduce various business terms to your teen. Explain what's revenue,
what's profit. what's a venture capitalist etc.. Make sure your child
understands he/she needs to make a profit to run the business.
3. Designing
Ask your child to put their idea in paper -maybe how their product would look like or a flowchart to explain their
business.
4. Naming
Tell them the importance of their business name and how a tagline and
a slogan can help them better define a business.
