Ana
Lingenfelder: Ana came up with a mobile board with a screen
showing a pair of hands. Hands On Hand Clap Game allows a single
person to play by following along with glowing lights on the hands.
The player is free to choose the difficulty level of the game, as
well as select which rhyme they want to clap along to. Ana even
wanted the user to be able to input their own rhymes by teaching
new hand clap patterns to the game. Now kids can stay entertained
and practice their skills even when they are by themselves!

Russell
Moore: Russell created Water Tag by designing a vest that
holds water in 4 interior pockets. Plugs keep the water from spilling
out of the vest until a player gets tagged. When a member of the
opposing team pulls a ribbon attached to the end of the plug, the
vest-wearer gets soaked, and they are out until the next game. Now
when Russell and his friends play touch football, instead of touching
the player with the ball they pull the ribbon and soak the player.

Redmond
Sisters: Their new innovative game, “Hop To It”
has infrared sensors are mounted on a turntable and rotate around
in a circle at a speed determined by the players. When a player
doesn’t jump high enough or at just the right time, the sensors
detect human heat and activate the voice alarm. The players can
pre-record messages on the recorder to make the game really fun.
The girls have come up with three games that can be played which
include “Leapfrog” for two teams, “You Croaked”
for two players or more and “Croaking a Cappella” for
a single player. |

California
Aquatics: The team of California Aquatics invented Underwater
X-Treme (UX) which is a small cylinder that can be used underwater
that features sound and bright, blinking lights. The UX can be used
to play games in the water or on land using light only, sound only,
both, or neither. It is an amazingly versatile toy. The California
Aquatics put together a kit that comes with one small UX and one,
extra-large UXX. The UX is designed to clip onto your bathing suit
or be tossed into the pool, while the larger UXX features multiple
light patterns for more complicated group games. The kit also includes
a pair of cyan goggles that, without distorting the wearer’s
vision in the pool, block the wearer’s vision of the red light
of the UX unless they look directly at it.

| Justin
Euliano: Justin loved to fish and as a kid he had difficulty
with casting. He thought it would be fun if there was an easier
and safer way to cast a fishing line. Therefore, he decided to create
a new fishing rod that would shoot the fishing hook with a press
of a trigger. No more flinging the rod and hook behind the head
to cast. Justin’s Aim N’ Fish is a unique new easy and
safe fishing rod that kids will love to use. Jerrilee Geist: Jerrilee
brainstormed ideas and developed Swipe It, a fast-paced game of
spelling and vocabulary. Swipe It is a game in which the players
race to complete words from multiple letter groups building from
the inside out. The more words you complete, or steal, the more
points you earn. The more cards left in your hand when someone goes
out, the more points you lose. |

Taylor:
Taylor invented the Magic Sponge Blocks made of sponge or foam material
so they could be compressed for storage yet kid sized when in use.
They would also be safe and durable for indoor or outdoor play.
The Magic Sponge Blocks are a life size construction set that lets
kids build forts, houses, castles and stages. When ready to be stored
they are placed in a special vacuum bag where the air is sucked
out reducing the size to about 10 to 20% of its original. Now the
blocks can fit in any closet, under a bed, in a toy chest or a storage
container. Additionally she included an embedded magnetic connector
feature to hold the structure securely together and give kids the
creative freedom to build anything.
