Water Talkies: BKFK Kids Advisory Board Member, Richie Stachowski began inventing at the age of 11. He invented a megaphone-like device to use underwater to communicate with his friends. His underwater Water Talkies were a big success selling at major retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart and Toys"R"Us in over 13 countries. Rich continued to invent more water toys and he developed his own company to market his inventions. At the age of 13 he sold his company for over $1 million dollars!

Cabbage Patch Kids: Xavier Roberts invented Cabbage Patch Kids. Xavier was only a teenager when he started the Babyland General Hospital where people could adopt a baby (the hand sewn dolls were never called dolls) complete with adoption papers. Roberts and five friends started a company to produce the dolls. The Coleco toy company liked Xavier’s ideas and began selling them under the new name of 'Cabbage Patch Kids.'

Lincoln Logs: Lincoln Logs were designed and developed by John Lloyd Wright, son of one of America's most famous architects, Frank Lloyd Wright. The younger Wright came up with his idea for Lincoln Logs when he was traveling with his father in Tokyo and became inspired by the construction techniques used in the foundation of the earthquake-proof Imperial Hotel, which his father designed.

 

Jenga: You know JENGA! right? It's the second best selling game in the world and it was invented by a kid! Leslie Scott invented a game played with stackable wooden blocks. Leslie, a British Citizen, came up with the idea while living in Africa as a teenager. The word JENGA is Swahili for "build".
