12-year-old Fabian and his

at NYSE on January 11, 2010.
The NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan L.
Niederauer, K12 CEO Ron Packard, and BKFK CEO Norm Goldstein
presented Fabian with his award of $2500 at the NYSE board
room. Fabian took that
opportunity to really impress them by handing out his
business card and explaining his application and how he came
up with it. NYSE and K12 will work with Fabian and BKFK to
help get his new company off the ground.
As the grand prize winner, Fabian also got the opportunity
to ring the closing bell. Fabian and his
parents, along with Niederauer, Packard, Goldstein, and NYSE
Floor Governors, were on the podium of the trading floor to close the markets for
the day. You

Fabian - LIVE on the floor of the stock exchange
From Conroe, TX, 12-year-old
Fabian won the NYSE Financial Future Challenge with
"Oink-a-Saurus," an
Apple iPhone/iPod Touch app combines profiler, which learns
about your interests by tracking your web browsing & buying
habits through UPC (bar code) reader and a what-if scenario
creator showing what if you saved/ invested in stocks rather
than spending your money. The game also includes a social
network, showing stock selections and ideas of teens
matching your profile, and a news service providing
teen-friendly investing info, as well as a link to a
teen-friendly stock broker.
"Many kids spend huge amounts
of money on things they don't need when they should be
saving/investing for their future, such as college," says
Fabian. "My idea will allow them to go from buying a
favorite thing to learning about the company that makes it,
to news/research about the company, to buying/selling that
company's shares in a stock market simulator, and
ultimately, for real."
