Arabella
Handbook on Helping Kids with Cancer

Inventor: Arabella
Invented at age 9

She saw an opportunity: Arabella learned of a young girl who was adopted from China but she was sick with a brain tumor caused by cancer. Arabella became pen pals with her friend from China. They wrote many letters but never met. She wanted other kids to learn how to help other kids who are sick the way she did.

She had an idea: She decided that other kids could help kids with cancer if they knew what to do so she set out to write a book to help kids help other kids with cancer.

She developed it: Arabella is currently in the process of writing her book.

The idea was a hit: Arabella was personally awarded the New York Liberty Medal Award for her volunteer work. She began volunteering with the nonprofit Tumbleweed Foundation which provides emotional support for children with terminal illnesses.

She was highlighted by The Disney Channel in the Check This Kid Out segment.
