Alexander Graham Bell

Telephone

  • Do you know what Alexander Graham Bell is famous for? Of course, the telephone!
  • His invention of the telephone grew out of his research of ways to improve the telegraph. After obtaining the patent for the telephone, Bell continued his many experiments in communication, and now holds over 20 patents.
  • His patents include the photophone, phonograph, aerial vehicles, hydroairplanes, and a selenium cell. Even though he was not born in Canada, many of his greatest scientific discoveries were made on Canadian soil.
