Kidcare Riding Car
Inventor: Spencer
Invented at age: 6
He saw a problem:
Spencer knew that young kids hospitalized with serious
health conditions still liked to play. However, their
medical apparatus (like IV and oxygen) often inhibit their
freedom. Parents often nervously chase their children
with the IV pole for fear that the needle would come out.
He had an idea:
By attaching the IV pole to a riding vehicle, kids can
play and not worry.
He
developed it:
With the support of his family and community, Spencer
created his first prototype.
The idea was a hit: He won the 2003 Jimmy Neutron Generation
Genius Young Inventors Contest .He also won the 1999 Student
Ideas for a Better America Competition.
Spencer was the youngest inductee to the National Gallery
for America's Young Inventors (Hall of Fame) at age 8,
in 2000. He has a patent pending for his invention.
