BKFK’s Taylor Hernandez Signs Licensing Deal with Foamables® Fun Furniture For Kids™
Chester Award Winning Kid Inventor Taylor Hernandez’s “Magic Sponge Blocks” Invention Licensed for Worldwide Distribution
NNEW YORK, NY -June 26, 2006 - BKFK Company (BKFK) today announced that they have signed a global licensing deal on behalf of kid inventor Taylor Hernandez, 11, with Foamables® Fun Furniture for Kids™. As the winner of the 2005 BKFK/Xerox National Invention Competition, Ms. Hernandez won the prestigious Chester Award for her unique invention. BKFK worked with Ms. Hernandez throughout the past year to apply for a patent for her invention, develop the concept, and ultimately to land the deal with Foamables.
Ms. Hernandez’s invention, “Magic Sponge Blocks,” are large building blocks made from sponge that can safely stack high without worry that they could fall and hurt a child. These magical blocks feature embedded magnets to hold them together and they compress almost like a pancake for easy storage.
Under the terms of the deal, Foamables has signed a three-year licensing contract with BKFK to design, develop, and produce “Stuck-On-Foam Fun” products for global distribution. These products will be co-branded along with BKFK, and will feature invention elements and the inspirational story of Taylor Hernandez. Several product concepts are in the works, including “Stuck-On-Foam Fun” room décor and role play sets.
