Frequently Asked Questions

What is BKFK Brainstorm Challenge?
The BKFK Brainstorm Challenge curriculum was originally developed at the Sid Craig School of Business, California State University, and re-designed specifically for BKFK. The 'Brainstorm Challenge' aims to foster creative thinking, invention and entrepreneurial ventures among elementary and middle school children ?ages K-8 ?using toys and games
as the model.

  Who can participate?
The BKFK Brainstorm Challenge is designed for students K-8, with lessons/activities developed in two age ranges: K-3 and 4-8. Twelve individual modules per age range are included, designed for maximum flexibility to allow your team to present in a variety of formats: individually, as part of a series, as a summer camp or 'on the floor'.Every participant has the opportunity to walk away with an invention having started with just an idea.

What is the program about?

Formatted with flexibility to suit the individual needs of a museum (individual classroom style, summer camp, as part of a series or 'on the floor'), the program is a compilation of presentation recommendations and guidelines gleaned from 'on the ground' experience in our pilot museums.

The BKFK Brainstorm Challenge lets students brainstorm as they take a shot at inventing the next best Toy, Game or Sporting Good of the future. A fun fast 45 minutes of hands-on building that starts with a student's ideas and ends with their invention. Participants may be considered as part of a national search for the next best invention run by BKFK. Every participant will be given the tools to maximize their creative potential ?and have fun doing it.
