Afrikana
Name: Noelle
Current Age: 17
From Haddonfield, NJ,
17-year-old Noelle earned the first place distinction in her state with
her “Afrikana” fashion collection and was one of the finalists of the
2008 BKFK Signature Style Challenge. The Haddonfield Memorial High
School student believes her clothing should allure and strives to create
pieces that real people would want to wear. Primarily setting her sights
on courting the tastes of teen girls and younger women, she knows that
the right piece of clothing holds immense potential to make someone feel
great. Though her aim was to create utterly comfortable clothing, she
was also insistent on designing pieces that are fashionable and stylish.
Delving into the rich African traditions, Noelle incorporated
traditional African patterns, animal prints and bold colors, to for a
potent mix of elements that pleases even the most discerning tastes..
