FroBow
Invented by 10-year old Kristen Martin
At age 10, Kirsten noticed her dog playing with a Frisbee. She thought that it would be really neat to make a flying disc into another invention. A flying disc is just an ordinary toy to play with. Kirsten decided to expand its functionality, and can create many games out of one toy.
Kirsten’s FroBow is not your ordinary flying disc. She created a message sending game, where you can send a stealth message by quickly writing a note and passing it right on over to your friend with one simple throw. With the FroBow she also imagined playing different games like tic-tac-toe or a more elaborate version of Ultimate Frisbee using the secret code for teams to protect. Now the disc has more power. The FroBow is a flying disc with a built in message pocket and a secured writing utensil and an eraser.
In 2004/05 Kristen won the Chester Award for the By Kids For Kids Xerox National Invention Competition.
