Hop To It
Invented by 10-13-year olds Karen, Chrissy & Kelly Redmond

The Redmond sisters thought jump rope was a boring, old fashion game. They wanted to design a fun game that increased fitness and could be played alone or in groups. They wanted to create the 21st century game of jump rope. Their new innovative game, “Hop To It” offers aerobic exercise for kids of all ages.

The infrared sensors are mounted on a turntable and rotate around in a circle at a speed determined by the players. When a player doesn’t jump high enough or at just the right time, the sensors detect human heat and activate the voice alarm. The players can pre-record messages on the recorder to make the game really fun. Features of Hop to It include one player or multiple players, multiple levels of difficulty and voice messages that can be customized. The girls have come up with three games that can be played which include “Leapfrog” for two teams, “You Croaked” for two players or more and “Croaking A Cappella” for a single player.
