Ice Straw
Invented by 11-year old Kevin Provencher

Kevin at the age of 11 realized that there must be a better way to keep his drink cold without using ice because the ice just melted and watered down his drink. Kevin was frustrated because his soda always tasted like water and there was never enough ice made in the freezer.

Kevin went to work and invented a super Ice Straw with a self contained coolant system that keep drinks cold longer and eliminates the irritating watered-down effect of melted ice. Like a ‘frosty mug’ the Ice Straw chills the drink as it passes through the straw. The coolant device slips around the funnel of the straw and as the liquid flows through the straw it automatically and instantaneously cools. The Ice Straw is fun to use and beverages won’t get watered down with ice.

He won the By Kids for Kids Entrepreneurial award out of 600 children at the 22nd Annual Connecticut Invention Convention.
