Swipe-It
Invented by 9-year old Jerrilee Geist

Jerrilee wanted to create a personal, custom-made birthday gift for her older sister who loves words. Speed Spell (now Swipe-it) was conceived as an exciting, fast-paced word game; UNO meets Scrabble and reminiscent of games played while the family is on a roadtrip

A great get-together party game for all ages 8 and up. One to five teams or players complete words from multiple letter groups building from the inside out. The more words you complete, announce, SWIPE and/or steal, the more points you earn. The winner runs out of cards first. Playing time is about 20-30 minutes. The full deck has 120 cards. The rules contain numerous versions, from solitaire to Challenge version. Speed Spell is a wonderful brain booster, an engaging and fun way for children to improve their spelling, phonics and vocabulary skills. Great for families and educators.

BKFK awarded Speed Spell with commercialization honors in January 2005. It received the 2005 Dr. Toy Award in March 2005. The San Francisco Chronicle ran a story about Speed Spell in March 2005. Good Morning America wants to do a story on Jerrilee. She produced 1000 games that have been sold to six local Bay Area stores and has been selling directly to consumers on the internet. Jerrilee is creating grassroots momentum by setting up Tournaments in schools across the country and making herself available to do 'Meet the Creator' assemblies in Bay Area schools. A portion of all proceeds go to support the National Center for Family Literacy.
